They are perfect as is but I also like to incorporate them into recipes like this Peach Bread With Crumble Top. It’s a simple sweet bread that is moist and tender and loaded with juicy cinnamon coated peaches, and the sweet crunchy topping finishes it off to make the perfect bite.
How To Make Peach Bread With Crumble Top
Start by preheating the oven to 350º. Then spray a 9” x 5” loaf pan with baking spray and set it to the side.
To make the crumble top, add the flour, brown sugar and cinnamon to a small bowl and mix to combine. Cut butter into cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or a fork incorporate the butter into the flour until pea sized crumbles form. Place the prepared topping in the refrigerator while you prepare the bread.
To prepare the bread, to a large mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt then set to the side.
To a separate medium bowl add the egg, yogurt, granulated sugar, buttermilk, avocado oil, vanilla extract and almond extract and whisk together until completely combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix to combine.
Peal and dice the peaches into small pieces. Place the diced peaches into a small bowl along with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Toss peaches to coat.
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Top with diced peaches and any juices left over in the bowl. Pour the remaining batter on top and spread to cover peaches. Using a skewer or a butter knife swirl the batter from one side of the loaf pan to the other. Remove the crumble from the refrigerator and spread on top of the batter.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If crumble topping is browning too quickly, cover with aluminum foil to continue cooking. Remove from oven and allow to cool before cutting.
