Apple Cinnamon Swirl Cake

You will fall in love with this Apple Cinnamon Swirl Cake, with its moist and tender cake swirled with cinnamon sugar and loaded with sweet crunchy apples. It is a perfect treat on a cool fall day.

This Apple Cinnamon Swirl Cake has become a new family favorite in my house. I mean with its tender cake swirled with cinnamon sugar and those sweet crunchy apples, who wouldn’t love it. It has all the flavors of Fall that you love all wrapped up in a cake.

What You Will Need To Make Apple Cinnamon Swirl Cake

This Apple Cinnamon Swirl Cake is not only Delicious, its also super easy to make. In fact I bet you already have most if not all the ingredients right now.

  • All Purpose Flour: My favorite is King Arthur’s
  • Brown Sugar: Light or dark.
  • Granulated Sugar:
  • Ground Cinnamon:
  • Eggs: Room Temperature
  • Butter: Unsalted
  • Pure Vanilla Extract: I prefer pure vanilla extract rather then imitation vanilla extract.
  • Baking Powder:
  • Baking Soda:
  • Salt:
  • Apples: You Can use Fuji, Gala or Granny Smith. You want to use an apple that will hold its shape.

How To Make Apple Cinnamon Swirl Cake

Preheat oven to 350º. Line a 9” x 5” loaf pan with parchment paper and spray with baking spray and set to the side.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon and set to the side.

To a separate large mixing bowl, whisk together the all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

To a separate medium mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs and pure vanilla extract.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir to combine.

Add the chopped apples, using a rubber spatula to fold them in. The batter will be thick.

Spread half of the batter to the bottom of the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar on top of the batter, being sure to completely cover. Spread the remaining batter on top and once again top with the remaining cinnamon sugar.

Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few crumbs on it, not a wet batter. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before removing from pan. Once cooled, remove from pan and serve.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup brown Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons ground Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 Cups all purpose flour
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 Teaspoon salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 Cup ( 1 stick ) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 Teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Cups peeled, cored and diced apples.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350º. Line a 9” x 5” loaf pan with parchment paper and spray the bottom and the walls of the pan with baking spray, then set to the side.
  2. In a small mixing bowl whisk together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon until combined, set to the side.
  3. To a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. To a separate medium mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs and pure vanilla extract.
  5. Pure the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix to combine using a rubber spatula. Fold in the diced apples and continue mixing until incorporated.
  6. Spread half of the batter to the bottom of the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar on top of the batter. Spread the remaining batter on top and once again sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
  7. Place in preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with few crumbs, not a wet batter. Remove from heat and allow to cool before serving.
